Part two of the joint update. Musicals is the theme, if you didn't catch that from Sara's post. Dur. Got six songs and a clip. Yep, a real, live clip.

Current Theme: Musicals/Broadway, as mentioned above.

Title: Season of Love
Artist: Cast of Rent
Series: Rent
Length: 2:51
Rating: 4.5/5
Comments: I sang this song in sixth grade with the chorus, so it’s something of an old favorite. Touches down on what’s really important and the way people choose to live their life. Is it mundane, just another 500,025,600 meaningless minutes? Yeah, I’m trying to be all symbolic and deep, but I’m failing HADR.
500,025,600 minutes, 500,025,000 journeys to plan, 500,025,600 minutes - How do you measure the life of a woman or a man? In truths that she learned, or in times that he cried. In the bridges he burned, or the way that she died.

Title: Come What May
Artist: Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman
Series: Moulin Rouge
Length: 4:48
Rating: 4/5
Comments: Never actually seen the movie, but I have a few tracks from it, and picked this one so I wouldn’t overlap with Sara and Charlene. A very pretty track, if not a touch sappy. Nicole Kidman has a lovely voice, but to be honest, I think it’s Ewan that really carries this track. Who knew he could sing so well?
Seasons may change, winter to spring, but I’ll love you to the end of time. Come what may, come what may. I will love you until my dying day.

Title: What Is This Feeling?
Artist: Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth(and Galinda’s fanclub)
Series: Wicked
Length: 4:48
Rating: 5/5
Comments: Two roommates meet for the first time. Such new feelings! Is it love? Hahaha, yeah right. A very cute track, surprisingly bubbly, considering the theme. My friend Scott sent me this, so he’s to blame for getting me addicted to it. Galinda’s voice irritated me at first, but it goes with her character, so it kind of grows on you.
Though I do admit it came on fast, still I do believe that it can last. And I will be loathing, loathing you my whole life long!

Title: The Lonely Goatherd
Artist: Julie Andrews
Series: The Sound of Music
Length: 3:09
Rating: 4/5
Comments: Old school musical! I’ve never even seen tSoM, so picked this one up from a fan music videos. A perky, yodel-filled tracked about a girl and a goatherd. What the hell is a goatherd anyway?
Soon her Mama with a gleaming gloat heard: Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hmm hmm! What a duet for a girl and goatherd: Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo!

Title: What Would Brian Boitano Do?
Artist: Cast of South Park
Series: South Park
Length: 1:34
Rating: 5/5
Comments: More South Park goodness! Like Sara, I was never particularly fond of SP, but I did very much enjoy the movie. So, in honor of the Olympics, even if it is totally the wrong season, a song about an ice skating champion who apparently doubles as a super hero.
When Brian Boitano was in the Alps, fighting grizzly bears, he used his magical fire breath and saved the maidens fair. So what would Brian Boitano do if he were here today? I'm sure he'd kick an ass or two, that's what Brian Boitano'd do.

Title: Where Do We Go From Here?
Artist: Cast of BtVS
Series: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Length: 1:52
Rating: 5/5
Comments: As Spike dubbed it, “the big group sing” from Once More With Feeling. The characters, now with their secrets all out in the open, struggle to reconcile and figure out what they’re supposed to do. There’s a bunch of songs I could have picked from the soundtrack (and it shall not be the last you will see of it, either), but this one sounded particularly musical-y, and it shines the spotlight on the entire cast. Ridiculously catchy – find myself humming this all too often.
Why is the path unclear when we know home is near? Understand we’ll go hand in hand but we’ll walk alone in fear. Where do we go from here?

Holy crap! An actual clip! This week it’s a behind the scenes look at Once More With Feeling. I know, sorry, non-BtVS fans, but I thought it applied with the whole musical swing of things. Very funny glimpse at went on during rehearsals and such. Alyson Hannigan lipsyncing to “Mustard”? May be the cutest thing EVAR.

Apologies on the quality – had to squish a twenty-five meg file into five teeny tiny megs.

-No playlist, ‘cause I’ll track down stuff whether I have it or not.
-Use the comments to ask for stuff. I don’t mind if you ask for more than one thing, but if others are requesting, I’ll only grab your first choice. Don’t worry, we’ll eventually get to everything.
-If there’s something want to upload that fits the theme, and there’s room, feel free. Just drop a comment so others can enjoy.

-Still testing for length and size, but at this point, I’d say no longer than three minutes or so.
-Specify what you want in as much detail from the DVD list.
-If anime, choose subbed or dubbed. Otherwise kept dubbed as default.
